Sudakshina Ghosh ( Nee Datta )
Biography:
Born in Kolkata, India in 1952. From a very early stage in life, she was encouraged by her mother to learn various forms of art and craft and was given the freedom to explore. Being interested in science, she taught chemistry and math in middle and high school in India and abroad for three decades before becoming a professional artist. Sudakshina completed courses in Western art from Nanyang academy of fine arts, Singapore, but is mostly self taught. She enjoys working with traditional media, but from year 2012 she has been painting regularly with coffee on watercolour paper.
She exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in India, Singapore, U.K., and U.S.A. Works done with acrylic, charcoal, watercolour and coffee are with collectors in these countries.
